Taylor Cruz Mwila is the visionary behind Mabula Hospitality, dedicated to transforming the hospitality and food sectors to be more vegan-friendly. Her mission is to make sustainable, plant-based options the norm, ensuring every guest feels included and valued. With a focus on creating innovative, flavor-packed dishes, Taylor’s approach ensures sustainability without compromising taste.

Originally from the USA, Taylor has called Lusaka, Zambia home for over five years, where she lives with her husband. Her travels to 55 countries have exposed her to the world’s highest standards of vegan cuisine, inspiring her to bring that same level of excellence to businesses in Southern Africa. In a region where the vegan movement is still emerging, she helps create inclusive, world-class dining experiences.

Before founding Mabula Hospitality, Taylor worked for over five years in the restaurant and retail sectors, honing her customer service skills. Her decade of experience as a consultant in International Business and Social Innovation—helping organizations and governments adopt more sustainable and innovative practices—gives her a unique ability to lead clients through meaningful transformations, skills she now brings to the hospitality sector.

Taylor transitioned to a vegan lifestyle in 2017 and launched a food blog to share her culinary experiences and simplify veganism. The feedback from tourists, expats, and foodies seeking vegan recommendations revealed a significant gap in the market, leading her to shift her career to vegan hospitality consulting.

As the CEO and Founder of Mabula Hospitality, Taylor partners with socially conscious brands to expand their plant-based offerings. Her expertise covers everything from menu evaluation and recipe creation to event planning, staff training, and sustainability strategies.
